The Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum is excited to welcome the next generation of change-makers! Here, students are transported to a time of simple living, delightful tales, and period furnishings. Learn about Susan B. Anthony’s upbringing and the influences in her life that led her to become one of the most influential figures in American history.

Field Trip Programs

Grades K-3
Susan B. Anthony: Family Life
Students will understand the differences and similarities between childhoods of the 1800s and today as well as the early life of Susan B. Anthony and how she would grow into the revolutionary she became.
Grades 4-6
Susan B. Anthony: Reformer
Learn about the important movements during the eighteenth and early nineteenth century as how messages for and against these movements were distributed.
Grades 7-12
Labor Reforms in the 1800’s
How did the Engineering Progress of the 1800’s affect the Anthony’s family business? Includes artifacts for manipulation.
Susan B. Anthony: American Reformer
Students are given an in-depth look at the importance of Susan B. Anthony in American history and her role in the women’s suffrage movement.
Temperance and Abolition: The Doorway to Suffrage
Learn about the Temperance and Abolition movements and the impact that they had on Susan B. Anthony and the Suffrage movement.

Grades 3-5
Your Neighbor Susan
Students will gain a greater appreciation for civic responsibilities and privileges, and awakening students to their potential to be agents of change in their communities through the magic of reenactment. Students will also leave with an understanding of Anthony’s legacy and the effect on life today.
Grades 6-8
Local Advocacy in Action
Students learn about local elections and forms of advocacy in their community through a presentation and letter writing workshop.
